Scalp Acne treatment

The skin textures are different in different parts of the body, the face, the head (scalp), the hand and feet and the body. The problems relating to specific skin areas in the body, requires careful treatment. The scalp area confronts with problems from dandruff, oily scalp, dry scalp and acne problems. It is also seen that scalp acne also breakout and causing itching and irritation. It might get cleared by itself, or may also reappear at intervals and be continuous for years.

Few factors contribute to this scalp acne condition – the climatic or the seasonal changes, hygiene factors, imbalanced diet, stress levels, hormonal imbalance, hereditary factors, medications that are toxic, heat exposure for long durations, oily hair conditions, spicy food intake, caffeine products intake.

Basic cleanliness can help individuals to get out of such problems. The two kinds of acne problems associated with scalp acne are – intense and mild forms (Acne Necrotica Miliaris and Scalp Folliculitis). There are ways to treat both forms of acne on scalp, the intense form is seen in the inner areas, where as the mild forms are seen in the hairline the upper forehead areas.

Treating the scalp acne

Frequent washing of hair with mild shampoo will be effective.

Salicylic acid lotion can be applied with a cotton ball on the scalp areas.

The antidandruff shampoos and a proper conditioner help well.

Benzoyl peroxide solution shampoo can be also used to treat scalp acne.

Not just treating scalp acne will help you but also further prevention ca n bring good results. Oil based hair styling products or oily products in general for hair usage tend to aggravate the situation or and develop this to intense forms. Some shampoos and conditioners that may be harsh due to the chemicals in it so avoid those and use mild forms of shampoos. Do not scrub the acne, or pluck it from scalp, it may cause pain and scars.

Some bacteria and fungus may spread from one person to another, so make sure you have separate hair care and skin care products and items and do not share them with others.
